Describing South Australia as “strategically important” to the company’s growth strategy, HCL welcomed the new centre and offices into its global network of Delivery Centres across 43 countries.
Leading global technology company, HCL Technologies (HCL), and the Honorable David Ridgway, South Australia Minister of Trade, Tourism and Investment, have announced the opening of a new Delivery Centre in Adelaide.
The launch follows the signing last year by HCL Technologies of a six-year contract with Elders, one of Australia’s leading agribusinesses.
Initially, HCL is expected to create 50 new IT jobs in Adelaide as a result of establishing premises in the city. The Delivery Centre and office on Grenfell Street will join HCL’s network of Global Delivery Centres in the 43 countries the company operates out of across the world.
Minister Ridgway said the establishment of HCL in Adelaide offers local agribusinesses an opportunity to enhance their service offering to clients, both nationally and internationally.
“With South Australia’s strong credentials in defence and health industries as well as our emerging space and autonomous vehicle sectors, there will be many opportunities for high-calibre ICT solution companies, like HCL, in Adelaide,” he said.
The South Australian Government has been engaging with HCL to invest in South Australia by demonstrating the State’s strong credentials in various sectors and opportunities and the company’s partnership with Elders provided a perfect leverage for HCL to call South Australia home.
“Our growing relationship with Elders over the past two years has brought us to Adelaide with the opening of our new office here. The opening of this office reiterates the strategic importance of South Australia in HCL growth strategy and restates our commitment to the region at large,” said Michael Horton, Senior Vice President, Australia, HCL Technologies.
Headquartered in India, HCL has consolidated revenues of US$8.2 billion to the 12 months to the end of September 2018. At present, HCL employs 1,600+ professionals in the Australia region.
