CBRE Property Management Senior Director, Michael Hall, noted that the NABERS achievements demonstrated Cbus Property’s and CBRE’s commitment to pursuing best-in-class sustainability and energy management targets.
The Cbus Property-owned 50 Flinders Street office tower in South Australia has again achieved a market-leading 6 Star NABERS Energy rating, together with a 6 Star NABERS Indoor Environment rating.
The tower remains the only building in Australia to achieve this sustainability rating without the use of purchased Green Power. The property has also retained a 4.5 Star rating for NABERS Water.
At a glance:
“The 6 Star NABERS Energy rating was achieved by reducing electricity consumption by 17 per cent from 2018 and was only possible due to the highly dedicated on-site team constantly looking for ways to maximise the asset’s sustainable performance. This exciting achievement means that 50 Flinders Street is not only one of the most energy-efficient buildings in Australia, but it also provides a superior indoor working environment for our office and retail partners, improving the health, well-being and productivity of our tenants,” Cbus Property’s CEO, Adrian Pozzo, said.
Constructed in 2015, the CBRE-managed tower was designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS Energy Rating. Since practical completion in September 2015, Cbus Property and CBRE have implemented a program of continuous improvements, resulting in the consecutive 6 Star NABERS Energy ratings in 2019 and 2020.
The 21,744.9-square-metre building is leased to high-profile tenants, including People’s Choice Credit Union, the South Australian Government, BUPA, Cbus Super and Fiefy’s Café. It also includes Adelaide’s only office building childcare facility in the CBD, leased to Guardian Childcare & Education.
CBRE Property Management Senior Director, Michael Hall, noted that the NABERS achievements demonstrated Cbus Property’s and CBRE’s commitment to pursuing best-in-class sustainability and energy management targets.
“Collaboration was key to achieving and maintaining these NABERS ratings, with CBRE and Cbus Property committed to promoting initiatives which deliver market-leading outcomes and benefits for building occupiers,” Mr Hall said.
CBRE’s 50 Flinders Street team includes Richard Massie, Julia Roberts, Dammika Weerakkoddy and Sachith Alwis.
