Alan McKay, who has 20 years’ experience in project and construction management, takes on the business role after seven strong growth years under the leadership of Scott McCrossin.
JLL has appointed Alan McKay as Managing Director for Project and Development Services (PDS) - Australia and New Zealand.
Mr McKay has more than 20 years’ industry experience, including 16 years with JLL and most recently as Victorian State Manager for PDS. He started with JLL in London, and in Australia has played a pivotal role in leading the PDS business in New South Wales and Victoria.
Mr McKay’s appointment builds on the strong growth of the business over the past seven years under the leadership of outgoing PDS Managing Director – ANZ, Scott McCrossin.
Mr McCrossin, an industry veteran with nearly 35 years’ experience in project and construction management, will assume a new role as Executive Director, PDS Australia and New Zealand, working on local and regional strategic initiatives and continue chairing the Work Dynamics Board for Australia and New Zealand.
Martin Hinge, JLL’s Executive Managing Director, PDS Asia Pacific said: “Alan's exceptional contribution as State Manager for PDS Victoria since 2016 has been outstanding, achieving an impressive fivefold increase in the performance of the business during his tenure. This has cemented the PDS business as the state’s biggest project management firm and has now given us the opportunity to put a very high calibre executive into the lead role for Australia and New Zealand, one of our key markets globally.”
Mr Hinge acknowledged the leading role played by Mr McCrossin in driving the operation of the PDS business nationally to new heights across Australia and New Zealand.
“Over the past seven years, under Scott's leadership, our PDS business in Australia in particular has experienced tremendous growth, expanding the scope of projects and service offerings and opening new markets,” Mr Hinge said.
Mr McKay’s success in his role in the Victorian business was underscored by JLL securing last year more than $600 million of project work as part of the Victorian Government’s new schools and upgrade program.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr McKay said, “It’s an exciting time to be moving into the MD role as we continue our growth into new sectors and services, building upon the strong legacy established by Scott.”
Mr McKay holds a Senior Executive MBA from the Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honours from the University of Tasmania. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
