The Melbourne suburb of Bentleigh East will welcome a new COVID-19 testing facility following a recent Gray Johnson lease deal.

The tenancy of a vacant building at 609-611 South Road, Bentleigh East has been taken over by 4Cyte Pathology, which has signed a 12-month deal for the corner property.

Comprising 228 square metres, the site has a mix of open spaces and offices and benefits from easy access to the CBD and the Bayside area.

There is also exposure to all the passing traffic along South Road.

Leasing agent Stephen Buchan said pathology service providers seeking relatively short-term occupancy opportunities for strategically located buildings had been "a new force" in the leasing market.

The rental on the corner property is $65,000 annually.
