Knight Frank Sustainability Division within the Asset Management Services team has been appointed by The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) to conduct assessments for their new Property Sustainability Upgrade Loans. 

CBA has recently launched a Property Sustainability Upgrade Loan for new and existing business customers, enabling more Australian businesses to reduce the environmental impact of commercial properties, while significantly reducing operating costs.

Knight Frank Australia's Sustainability Division has been appointed to conduct the sustainability assessments to identify opportunities and develop a pathway for eligible applicants.

With zero margin and zero fees, eligible businesses will be able to increase their Commercial Property Investment Loan by up to 20 per cent to complete property sustainability upgrades that achieve a NABERS rating improvement or reduce the property’s carbon emissions. It is the first loan of its kind to be offered to the commercial property industry by a major bank.

CBA worked closely with NABERS as well as our Sustainability Division to develop the loan eligibility criteria that will help businesses reduce their emissions by at least 30% and meet or exceed average market performance.
