Sydneysiders and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy a major activation event in the Wynyard neighbourhood next month as part of the NSW Government’s CBD Revitalisation program, with the aim to encourage people to return to the city and experience the vibrancy it has to offer.
Underpinned by the 24-Hour Economy Strategy, leading real estate services firm CBRE, in partnership with creative agencies Villa & Villa and Motti & Smith, have won a grant to deliver ‘Flow & Glow’, providing an extensive program of experiential and hospitality activities across May 26-27.
The underlying theme of Flow & Glow is grounded in sustainability and will showcase the vibrant dimensions of Wynyard, as a destination where history meets art and hospitality meets entertainment.
The soon to be unveiled program of activities will include, by day, inspirational content programmed by TEDxSydney, an artists’ market and insta worthy art installations. By night, people can visit the neighbourhood bars and restaurants and listen to a line-up of DJ’s, all while partying in the glow of the art.
CBRE's property partners in the Wynyard neighbourhood, including ISPT, Brookfield Properties, Charter Hall, EG Funds and Marprop, are backing the Flow & Glow program with a series of events scheduled to take place throughout their buildings.
Phil Rowland, CBRE Pacific Advisory CEO, noted, “As a property industry leader, regularly consulting with landlords and tenants, CBRE has seen first-hand the impact the pandemic has had on both the city and the broader economy. The CBD community is longing for the return of city workers and visitors. It’s in CBRE’s DNA to connect our community and back local businesses, and we are excited to be able to deliver this through Flow & Glow, with the support of our clients.”
Mr Rowland added, “A sustainable built environment and green spaces in the CBD are the future of a connected and successful city and it’s this ethos that is fundamental to the way CBRE does business. Activating Flow & Glow around Wynyard Park emphasises this vibrant future and is why this event is grounded in the theme of sustainability.”
NSW 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, Michael Rodrigues said initiatives like this showcased the many different hospitality and entertainment attractions Sydney had to offer.
“I am excited about the prospects of a shift in attraction day through to the night. CBRE’s Flow & Glow is a great example of how our CBDs Revitalisation Program can bring the government and industry together, allowing the storytelling of people and place across Greater Sydney. I look forward to our collective show to open its curtains, with compelling offerings for more visitors to experience everything this city has to offer.” Mr Rodrigues said.
