Investa welcome Corrs Chambers Westgarth to one of Melbourne’s most recognisable and pre-eminent commercial buildings, 120 Collins Street. Corrs Chambers Westgarth has secured more than nine thousand square metres across eight high-rise floors to create its new Victorian headquarters, where employees and clients will enjoy premium facilities with panoramic views over the Yarra and Port Phillip Bay.
Co-owned by Investa Commercial Property Fund (ICPF) and a Mirvac managed fund, the iconic post modernist building offers 50 storeys of premium office space with total net lettable area of 65,000 sqm. The building commands a prime position at the ‘Paris end’ of Collins Street and is in the final phase of a refined revitalisation by award-winning architect, HASSELL, which also created the original building design.
Brendan Looby, ICPF Fund Manager said, “We are very pleased to welcome Corrs Chambers Westgarth to 120 Collins Street. Attracting a leading legal firm is testament to the quality of the exciting transformation that is almost complete, and which will create a vibrant urban precinct which is highly attractive to corporate occupiers.”
Occupants and visitors now arrive at the building to experience a revitalised lobby that includes luxury fashion and jewellery retailers and bespoke F&B offerings which are progressively opening. Along with the outdoor space, the lobby and multiple meeting rooms on the mezzanine floor provide a flexible third space for occupiers to extend their workplaces, providing more options to connect and collaborate.
Above the new lobby, tenants have exclusive access to a 160-person capacity sky terrace overlooking the heritage listed St. Michael’s Uniting Church, including two timber decks connected by a skybridge. This rare Melbourne outdoor space is available for private events for employee, client and other VIP celebrations. The revitalisation also includes amenity updates on each floor, new hotel-quality end of trip facilities, and upgraded infrastructure as part of the carbon roadmap.
Gavin McLaren, CEO Corrs Chambers Westgarth said, “The move to 120 Collins Street is a milestone in our firm’s 175-year history. It is an exciting opportunity for us to create a workplace which will support ongoing flexibility, collaboration and excellence. Relocation to the east end of Collins Street brings us closer to many of our clients and positions the firm for the future.
Corrs Chambers Westgarth will join a range of industry leading tenants in the professional services sector, across finance, banking and government. The firm will move into its new premises in late 2025.
