Knight Frank’s Asset Management Services (AMS) team in Perth has been appointed to manage the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA), which is owned and operated by the Shire of Murray.
Located around 70 kilometres south of Perth, at 37 Dollyup St, Stake Hill in Mandurah, the FIPWA is a state-of-the-art facility fostering industry innovation to drive business growth, develop new products and exports, and transform Western Australia’s food and beverage manufacturing industry.
The precinct is split across three buildings, the Innovation Centre, The Research and Development Centre, and the Food and Beverage Production Centre.
In operation since February 2023, these sprawling facilities are part of the wider Peel Business Park which will eventually cover 1000 hectares of land.
Through this appointment, Knight Frank will also support FIPWA’s partners, including anchor tenants Murdoch University, Growhub Innovation and Spinifex Brewing.
Shire of Murray CEO, Dean Unsworth said the Shire was pleased to have secured the services of Knight Frank to manage the Precinct.
“With the Innovation Centre fully occupied with businesses, and the Shire now turning its mind to developing the Murray Future Food Facility within FIPWA, it is timely to bring on a well-known global business to further enhance the asset management for the Shire,” said Mr Unsworth.
Property Manager Jordan Bertolini and Senior Facilities Manager Brad Toko-Layton will collectively manage the facility on behalf of Knight Frank.
Knight Frank Head of Asset Management Services WA Terri Taylor said the team was excited about managing the FIPWA on behalf of the Shire of Murray.
“Previously the FIPWA was managed in house but Knight Frank has now been appointed to use its expertise to deliver efficiencies across the assets in the Precinct,” she said.
“We look forward to supporting the FIPWA and their partners to enhance their innovation capabilities within the food and beverage manufacturing industry, and drive economic impact to WA and the wider economy.
“Knight Frank will assist the FIPWA in achieving its projected economic impact of $330 million in the food and beverage sector and another $737 million into the wider economy over the next five years.”
Ms Taylor said Knight Frank’s appointment to manage the FIPWA builds on several other recent appointments for WA’s AMS team.
