The disruption of COVID-19 has failed to halt demand for property in Tweed Heads, with LJ Hooker Kingscliff/Casuarina Director Nick Witheriff and his team overseeing $10 million worth of deals in April.
The town of Tweed Heads next to the NSW/Queensland border seems to be rising to the real estate challenges that have come from the Covid-19 pandemic, with one agency in the area reporting healthy demand for property throughout April.
LJ Hooker Kingscliff/Casuarina successfully contracted $10 million in property last month via virtual inspection videos.
Director Nick Witheriff said a collaboration with art videographers @madeforcontentonly had allowed for both the agency and its customers to adapt to the social distancing restrictions imposed by the government.

"They (@madeforcontentonly) understand the need for capturing the finer details of the properties we sell," he said.
"At the same time, we are finding buyers are being forced to adapt to technology.
"They are able to access due diligence rooms and virtual inspections to complete their onsite requirements which allow transactions to complete without interstate or overseas travel to view the properties being sold."
According to LJ Hooker Kingscliff/Casuarina, the region has experienced a significant change in ownership across the past few years, with 90 per cent of people who own in the area now residing there, in comparison with 55 per cent in the mid-2010s.

This has been coupled with an increased demand for amenities, resulting in the Tweed Shire Council receiving more funding from the State and Federal Governments.
The region has welcomed almost $1 billion in infrastructure since 2017, including the Tweed Hospital development in Kingscliff, set to open next year.
Mr Witheriff said a shortage of available zoned land supply would allow the Tweed Coast secondary market to remain buoyant with growth expected to remain between 8-12 per cent annually over the next three years.
"We are now seeing a shortage of good quality stock for buyers within this area," he said.
"There will also be 4,500 people employed directly with the new hospital opening which will certainly increase the demand for property within this area."
He added the agency was fielding international enquiries for development site opportunities.
"We have just listed an iconic development site on the beachfront at Cabarita Beach," he said.
"The 'Hideaway Glamping site' which is located very close to the Award-winning Halcyon House at 2-6 Tweed Coast Road, Cabarita Beach.
"The opportunity is 2,803 square metres of prime development land which is already turning heads.
"We are receiving international interest on this iconic site with Expressions of Interest closing June 4th 2020."
