Johnstone, a highly respected figure in the property sector for over 40 years having held positions at JLL, Lendlease and most recently The GPT Group, has been in the position of Chair of the Cadence Advisory Board and Investment Committee for almost two years now.
He is currently Chair of the QIC Real Estate Trustee Governance Committee and a Director of Coffs Harbour Airport.
Joining Johnstone as a member on Cadence’s Advisory Board and Investment Committee is fellow GPT Alum, Nicholas Harris.
Harris is a property professional of over 35 years and is currently Chairman of Institutional Capital at HMC Capital. Prior to joining HMC, Harris was responsible for GPT’s funds management activities, including the development of GPT’s funds management platform and the creation of new products.
During his career, Nicholas’ roles have included property and asset management, funds management, capital transactions, M&A, strategy, and business development.
Harris is a member of the Manager Advisory Council of the Asian Association for Investors in non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV), a member of the Global Investment Committee of the Property Council of Australia and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

“To have representatives the calibre of Jonathan and Nicholas on our Investment Committee and Advisory Board will provide us with unparalleled guidance and expertise from two highly respected property professionals,” said Buxton.
“As the business continues to grow, particularly in the management of third-party capital, it’s extremely importantly that we are putting in place appropriate governance systems and this represents another key step in that direction.
“The greater management team and I are thrilled with the appointments and excited to work with Jonathan and Nicholas in pursuit of our long-term goals.”
