As office occupiers evaluate their workplace strategies in the wake of COVID-19, CBRE has appointed Gerry Leyden to jointly lead its office tenant representation business in Queensland.
Mr Leyden is currently a Senior Director in CBRE’s Queensland Office Leasing team.
Mr Leyden will work alongside Boyd Kildey to grow CBRE’s strongly performing Advisory & Transaction Services – Office Occupier business, drawing on his landlord-side experience to expand CBRE’s tenant representation offering.
CBRE’s Queensland Senior Managing Director Bruce Baker noted that the team already had a significant market share in Brisbane, with the business having grown exponentially over the past four years under Mr Kildey’s leadership.
“Gerry’s move will further strengthen the team’s presence and reach in South East Queensland at a time when occupiers are laser focused on their future workplace strategies,” Mr Baker said.
“In tandem, there has been a significant market shift, whereby a growing number of small to medium enterprises are now engaging tenant representatives, providing significant growth opportunities for our Occupier business.
“Bringing Gerry into the joint leadership role harnesses his 15 years of office leasing experience and will allow him to further expand his skill sets – highlighting our focus on providing career paths and new opportunities for our top talent.”
Mr Leyden has served as a Senior Director in CBRE’s Queensland Investor Leasing business for the past four years and has significant project leasing experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Brisbane leasing market, having completed significant transactions involving major corporate occupiers such as the Queensland Government, Aurizon, QIC, John Holland, Collection House and Santos.
