Stockland has started construction on Sienna Wood Town Centre, a new retail hub in the heart of the Sienna Wood masterplanned community located in Hilbert, in Perth’s rapidly growing south east corridor.
Sienna Wood Town Centre will span approximately 7,500 square metres and feature a full-line Woolworths supermarket, around 15 specialty shops including dining options, medical centre and a Nido Early School childcare centre that will cater to the everyday needs of the growing community.
To provide access to the new town centre and improve road safety and traffic flow, works are underway on a 1.4-kilometre stretch of Forrest Road which will see the existing single carriageway upgraded into a dual carriageway between Wollaston Avenue and Eleventh Road, including two new roundabouts. These works will also improve access to the new Hilbert Primary School, which is under construction and expected to open in 2026.
Stockland General Manager, WA Development, Col Dutton said the Sienna Wood Town Centre is set to become a bustling neighbourhood hub for the community.
“We are building new community infrastructure in our own backyard with a retail mix that will provide Sienna Wood residents with access to their everyday shopping needs and a place where the community can meet and socialise,” Mr Dutton said.
“With more than 3,000 residents already calling Sienna Wood home, infrastructure like this will support the needs of the growing community and build on our Stockland legacy – creating vibrant and connected communities that are full of energy, soul and life.”
Western Australian Minister for Planning the Hon. John Carey MLA, said the Sienna Wood Town Centre would be a significant boost for Perth’s southeastern growth corridor which would eventually see the delivery of more than 3,800 new homes for more than 12,000 Western Australians.
“The new Sienna Wood Town Centre will support significant future housing diversity and choice, further complementing the Cook Government’s $3.6 billion commitment to boost housing across the State,” Mr Carey said.
“This development will create hundreds of local jobs while delivering the critical everyday services supporting the growing community in Perth's south-east.”
“The Forrest Road upgrade is particularly important as it will improve connectivity and safety for the growing Sienna Wood community.”
Woolworths Operations Manager, Ollie Duhig said the supermarket chain was excited to be establishing a presence in the growing community.
“We're looking forward to bringing a full-line supermarket to Sienna Wood that will provide residents with fresh food and convenient shopping options close to home,” Mr Duhig said.
“The store will create new employment opportunities for the local community throughout both the construction phase and ongoing operation.”
Sienna Wood Town Centre is expected to be open to the public in early 2026.
