Colliers announce the expansion of its Investment Services team into Essendon Fields. This strategic move positions Colliers to better serve Melbourne's rapidly growing North West region.
State Government forecasts predict the population will increase by 559,200 people between 2021 and 2026, reaching 1.95 million.
This growth will drive economic expansion and create new business and employment opportunities. Colliers experts Travis Keenan and James Bui will be based in Essendon Fields' award-winning commercial, aviation, and retail precinct developed by Max Beck and Lindsay Fox, bringing their expertise and dedication to the area. This move is part of Colliers' plan to capitalise on the increasing demand for commercial and retail real estate and economic potential across Melbourne's dynamic growth corridors. Travis Keenan, Manager & Auctioneer, Melbourne Metro Sales | Investment Services, said, "We have strategically expanded our Investment Services offering to the North West of Melbourne to complement our existing Melbourne CBD and Chadstone, South East, offices, providing complete coverage of the Melbourne metropolitan market.
"With a growing population, Melbourne's north and west regions will continue to evolve as Greater Melbourne increasingly rebalances from its historic eastern development pattern, underpinning compelling opportunities to service this growing base."
According to Colliers' data, the region has seen a notable increase in professional and managerial occupations, indicating a rising demand for office space. Job growth in the area has surged by 20%, with a mix of white-collar jobs and retail-related industries fueling this demand. Matt Stagg, Head of Investment Services Victoria, added, "The expansion into Essendon Fields is a testament to our ongoing commitment to service broader markets as Victoria's population grows. The Investment Services team in Essendon Fields will specialise in commercial, retail, mixed-use, and social infrastructure assets (e.g., childcare and healthcare), servicing private, corporate, government, and institutional clients while leveraging Colliers' well-established industrial presence in the North West."
"Under the leadership of Hugh Gilbert and Nick Saunders, Colliers' Industrial & Logistics North West team has achieved significant success since they opened an office in the area over 20 years ago.
Their expertise and leadership have established Colliers as a dominant force in the region. We are excited to collaborate with them and provide additional services in the area," Mr Stagg added.
Highlighting the strong demand in the area, Colliers is excited to announce an upcoming high-profile listing at 9-11 Post Office Place, Glenroy, on behalf of Australia Post. The property is located 35 meters from the approximately $285 million recently upgraded Glenroy Train Station, including removing the railway crossing.
Mr Keenan said the former Post Office is underpinned by 978 sqm (approx.) of commercial zone 1 land and suits owner-occupiers, investors, and developers. The asset, which is being offered for sale by on-site public auction on Thursday, 6th March at 1pm, is expected to attract interest in excess of $2 million.
"There has recently been a surge in investors from other states, particularly NSW, looking for more affordable opportunities in Melbourne's west. Areas such as Hoppers Crossing, Truganina, and Tarneit have been favourable to NSW-based investors."
