The CBRE Victorian Retail Leasing Team have concluded a string of leasing deals at Melbourne Connect, located at 700 Swanston Street, Carlton. The University of Melbourne, in partnership with a consortium led by Lendlease, has created a connected innovation ecosystem which is envisaged to connect people, place and possibilities. Melbourne Connect will bring together world-class researchers, government, industry, SME’s, start-ups, higher-degree students, artists, and Science Gallery Melbourne, in a purpose-built innovation precinct right in the heart of Carlton and next to the Parkville and Biomedical Precincts.
CBRE have had the privilege to run a tightly-run retail leasing campaign for the eight boutique spaces on the ground floor of the cutting-edge precinct. CBRE’s Jason Orenbuch led the campaign in what has been deemed a success. ‘Our team have worked with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that all spaces are appropriately activated, designed and leased to leading retail operators’, Mr Orenbuch commented. Food & Beverage operators, The Studio Beans, Master Lanzhou and Nene Chicken are the first operators to be announced and welcomed into the precinct.
‘Ensuring the correct curation of food and beverage is critical across a precinct, our aim was to diversify the mix within the precinct but also ensure that occupiers of the precinct are welcoming to the mix’, Mr Orenbuch mentioned.
The Campaign has run over the past year and a half, ‘one thing is certain, retail spaces within high-density projects remain highly-contested and fiercely competed for, our team look forward to announcing the next round of retailers to join this exciting new precinct’, Mr Orenbuch concluded.
