CBRE has appointed Mark Granter to a newly created Pacific role as Head of Alternatives Capital Markets, adding weight to the team's capabilities as the alternatives sector continues to develop.
Mark has worked at CBRE for 33 years, the majority of this time in the Capital Markets business where he has brokered some of Australia’s largest property transactions.
In his new role, Mark will specialise in transacting larger digital infrastructure and data centres, healthcare, energy & renewables and social infrastructure assets, while continuing his work with CBRE’s Client Care team.
“Mark’s appointment will better enable us to support our investor and developer clients as they pursue alternative property opportunities. Some emerging sectors such as living, including build-to-rent, student accommodation and master planned communities have developed as a standalone sector with scale and mainstream support in the market and we expect this to continue,” said CBRE’s Pacific Head of Capital Markets, Flint Davidson.
Mr Granter added, “We are seeing major investors and institutions allocating more funds to emerging and alternative sectors which are well supported by strong demographic trends and demand. These trends are following what has been happening globally, particularly in the US and Europe.”
“I am excited about the likely growth in the alternatives sectors over the next five to seven years due to strong occupier demand and investor interest.”
