This year has held special significance for Melbourne realtor Gross Waddell, which is celebrating 25 years of service.
As 2019 draws to a close, so comes the opportunity to reflect on the 12 months just gone.
For Melbourne realtor Gross Waddell, the year has brought with it a milestone achievement, signifying the agency's 25th anniversary.
Having begun operating out of an office on Flinders Street in 1994, the business has maintained a consistent presence in Melbourne's property market ever since, offering a range of sales and leasing services.
The steady growth of the agency prompted a moved to its current home at 60 Collins Street four years ago, where it has continued to build a loyal client base.
In a message to staff, Residential Director Richard Cookesley credited the agency's mantra of 'Better Property Thinking' as a key driver of its longevity.
"This thinking provides the service and results our clients require, and we believe we can continually exceed their expectations," he said.
"A 25th anniversary is a great milestone in any business."
Melbourne's housing market has garnered plenty of attention in recent months as it, along with Sydney, begins to show signs of recovery.
Following APRA’s easing of lending restrictions in May 2019 and multiple interest rate cuts made by the RBA, housing finance levels have jumped.
Mr Cookesley said confidence in the market would return once finances were available again, adding banks were "yet to come to the party".
"The residential property development market is trying to bounce back," he said.
"Once credit restrictions begin to lift there will soon be demand and growth again.
"The market for commercial property remains strong and yields remain crisp.
"Having specialised in the Melbourne property market for 25 years, we have seen how the property cycles can turn."
