LJ Hooker Commercial Silverwater has had its strong results within the Western Sydney property market rewarded, named top commercial agency throughout New South Wales and the ACT at the Group's virtual awards held recently.

Specialising in the M4 corridor, the team has established connections with the national transport and logistics sectors, both of which have been significant contributors to the national economy in 2020.

Principal Marcel Elias was also named Top Commercial Salesperson while Industrial Sales and Leasing agent Aymen Sobbi was recognised within the Group’s top 7 per cent of salespeople.

Accepting the awards, Mr Elias said his team was working in "one of the engine rooms" of the national economy.

"(Our area) is where much of the state’s products are manufactured, packaged, stored and transported," he said.

“There’s always a lot of demand for assets and tenancies within the corridor because of the efficiencies the position and surrounding infrastructure provides, especially for importers and distributors.

“That being said, investors and owner-occupants have become more judicious in their decision making during COVID-19 and bank documentation has added complexity to the process.

“But there’s still a lot of interest in our area especially amongst investors who are seeking strong yields in the low-interest rate environment.”

Most recently, Mr Elias sold a 2,120 square metre warehouse facility at Ingleburn for $10.2m in an off-market deal.

The property, encompassing an 11,100 square metre site, exchanged only four days after it was shown to the purchaser.

Mr Elias attributed such results to a database that includes businesses and investors that had been clients "for nearly 30 years".

"These connections allow us to match the right seller with the right buyer and find the best tenant for an investment," he said.
