Knight Frank has made a key appointment to its office leasing team in Brisbane to strengthen its presence in the city fringe market.
Chris Mitchell will join Knight Frank’s Office Leasing team next week to head up fringe leasing, in the role of Associate Director. He will move to Knight Frank from his previous role as Managing Director at DeCee Develop, a Brisbane-based property developer specialising in medical sector development and consultancy projects.
In total, Chris has 23 years of experience in the property industry, working across the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Sydney CBD markets including in commercial agency, residential, commercial, medical and retail development.
He started his property career at JLL as Manager of CBD Leasing, a role he occupied for eight years, before moving onto roles at Ray White Commercial, Reed Property Group, Aria Property Group, Consolidated Properties, Huon Property Group and DeCee Develop.
In his most recent role Chris has been involved in a number of residential developments within inner Brisbane ranging from a $10 million to $210 million end value, covering all stages of the development phase including design, approvals, sales and marketing through the construction phase, as well as settlement and the financial performance of the projects.
Knight Frank Partner and Head of Office Leasing Queensland Mark McCann said Chris’s appointment would strengthen and grow Knight Frank’s presence in the Brisbane fringe office leasing market.
“We are experiencing significant demand from clients with a need for a well-connected and knowledgeable agency in this precinct, and we expect this to increase next year as sentiment and confidence returns,” he said.
“Chris has been appointed to service that demand, supported by our wider team, leveraging his skill set and well-established network to provide the best possible service for our clients.
“Chris brings an interesting combination of skills, both within agency originally and client side, with a strong background in property development and a very solid client contact base in Brisbane.
“Moving into next year we expect to expand our fringe office leasing team further, particularly as conditions improve.”
Mr McCann added that Chris would also be working closely with Knight Frank’s Commercial Sales and Capital Markets teams in Brisbane to provide added benefit for clients.
Mr Mitchell said he was looking forward to joining Knight Frank and working once again on the agency side to drive the firm’s growth in the Brisbane fringe office market.
“There is a great deal of optimism around at the moment, and this is a positive sign for greater activity in 2021,” he said.
“I am excited to deliver a great experience for our clients and provide the best service to ensure their needs are not only met, but exceeded.”
