The Victorian Retail Leasing Team at CBRE have concluded a leasing transaction at 3 Commercial Road, Prahran, which forms part of the wider Chevron Development located metres from the Alfred Hospital. CBRE’s Jason Orenbuch concluded the leasing deal on behalf of the landlord.

The 151sqm fully fitted space, which was home to Beluga Café for over 10 years will be transformed in to a new French Bistro concept called, Tapenade, at a sqm rate of circa $730.00 psqm. The group which has signed the initial 5 year lease with options and has been embedded in the Melbourne-French hospitality scene for many years.

Tapenade co-owner Laurie Faget commented, “We will offer some of my best home cooked dishes, some recipes that date as far back as my great grandmothers  whilst also offering freshly made sandwiches and of course tapenade and a small French convenience store with all of our favourite things from back home!” . Kevin Chassagne, who is Tapenade’s second half, says “We’ll bring our smiles and welcoming service that some of you know us for and bring our touch of the South of France to Melbourne, more precisely Prahran, somewhere that we have worked and lived at for almost 7 years now!

“The lease deal was followed by a highly competitive retail leasing campaign which brought many groups forward due to the location and the turn key opportunity”, Mr Orenbuch commented. “Our team have a number of requirements which have been uncovered from the campaign from many hospitality operators whom want to showcase new concepts to the Melbourne hospitality scene”, Mr Orenbuch concluded.
