Starting a new commercial real estate brand in Australia's largest market is not for the faint hearted, but exactly what Daniel O'Brien has done in his newly formed agency group X Commercial.
They have 4 offices throughout Metro Sydney, South Sydney, Inner West and Lower North Shore. Daniel O'Brien's partner, David Brown also has an office on the City Fringe.

Now I've shown you the Dashboard with your numbers in it, what are your thoughts? - said Chris Mercer.
"Chris, it's a game changer. It's one thing to see the demo of the dashboard, but once you have seen your own numbers in the dashboard, it is mind blowing. Incredible."
So often the industry products produced for the real estate industry are residential specific, but Daniel found the divisional breakdowns, reports and KPI's completely relevant to him, to the extent he was immediately driven to look deeper into "the why" the reports are how they are.
"My initial thought was I might need to concentrate hard to translate the numbers to commercial terms, but the numbers spoke for themselves. The way they are presented is so logical, it highlights good and bad aspects of the business reports so easily" said Daniel.
X Commercial is on a growth trajectory and has multiple offices, how helpful will this tool be with multiple offices running?
Daniel said, "this dashboard is a must have Chris, it really is that good. If you want to know how your business is going from top to bottom and across all division’s, it’s right there in front of you. The ability to consolidate all companies results into a group report is excellent."
Daniel knows that the ebbs and flows of commercial sales and leasing often mean the results of one month can be up or down dramatically. This has led him to previously disconnect from his P&L's but seeing the rolling quarter reports smooths this out and is a key part to helping see the real trajectory of his business.
"I immediately want to know how next month will look, and make sure the all the inputs are accurate, I don’t want to see the detailed P&L's, the dashboard level is perfectly suited to me. Now I have seen my numbers, this dashboard is a must have."
