QV1’s Facilities Management team has been recognised for their commitment and passion for the precinct and the wider industry after being named the Facilities Management Team of the Year in the 2023 RICS Australia Awards.
The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational and sustainable initiatives, projects and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. The Facilities Management Team of the Year Award recognises teams responsible for outstanding provision of services to building occupants.
Managed by CBRE, QV1 is a 43-storey premium office tower situated at 250 St Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD. The QV1 FM Team won the award based on their demonstrated commitment to challenging standard solutions to achieve excellence via innovative technology, sustainability and community initiatives.
The team has been at the forefront of planning and futureproofing the building, which was completed in 1991, with a series of multimillion-dollar refurbishments over the past six years. This has included the completion of hotel-quality end of trip, premium conference and business lounge facilities, an open and collaborative lobby and, most recently, a lush and connected streetscape.
The award also highlighted QV1’s priority to achieving outstanding sustainability outcomes through an ESG framework that is industry-leading:
QV1 Head of Operations Joe D’Alessandro said the award was testament to the team’s focus on providing a considered and people-focused precinct.
“This award represents a significant achievement and landmark for our team, who are dedicated to integrating sustainability, wellbeing and customer satisfaction into every decision,” Mr D’Alessandro said.
“Our team vision remains to provide an environment where people and businesses thrive. We are all committed to that goal and to receive this award is recognition that we are not only preserving the legacy of the iconic QV1 tower – but bringing it into a new age to support the future of work.”
CBRE Executive Managing Director, Property Management, Natalie Slessor commented on the award win, “It takes real teamwork and partnership to create outcomes that add value to the asset as well as to the community. We consider QV1 to be unique in its history as well as its future. CBRE is incredibly proud to be part of the QV1 success story, and uphold the highest standards in placemaking, sustainability and experience.”
RICS is the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction, with circa 125,000 qualified members across almost 150 countries.
