Mambourin residents will soon have a full-line Coles supermarket at Mambourin Marketplace, with construction underway by Maben Group as part of Frasers Property Australia's masterplanned community.
Mambourin locals and residents in the West Melbourne growth corridor will soon enjoy the convenience of a full-line Coles supermarket at Mambourin Marketplace, in the heart of Frasers Property Australia’s new masterplanned Mambourin community. Maben Group has been appointed to deliver the centre with work having already commenced on site and the occasion marked with a sod-turning ceremony.
The $60 million Mambourin Marketplace will feature approximately 7,500 sqm of retail space including a full-line Coles supermarket with Click and Collect offering, medical and pharmacy tenancies, and up to 25 specialty stores including fresh food, grocers, cafes, general services, beauty, and specialty food catering.
Mambourin Marketplace is the first stage of a Town Centre retail precinct planned to ultimately comprise around 25,000 sqm of retail space and upon completion will potentially adjoin the proposed train station and local business district, as well as proposed community facilities and a proposed new school.
With the proposed new train station, the Good News Lutheran College P-12 Campus anticipated to open by 2025, and the coming arrival of Coles, the complete picture of the future Mambourin Town Centre is clear with an anticipated opening date of Q3 in 2025.
“The leasing campaign for Mambourin Marketplace has kicked into full gear,” says Sarah Bloom, General Manager Development Victoria, Frasers Property Australia.
“To secure Coles as the major supermarket at Mambourin Marketplace speaks volumes for the growth potential and future prosperity of this growing community,” Ms Bloom says.
“With construction underway, it’s full steam ahead with delivering Mambourin Town Centre for our community and beyond.
“Mambourin Marketplace will house a curated mix of dining choices, specialty shops, and important services including health and wellbeing providers, to become the social heart of the community, where residents can access everything they need day to day, enjoy social experiences, and meet with friends and family.
“It adds up to an exciting opportunity for retailers, including local concepts, wanting to be part of something special, and for those with a flair for hospitality, opportunities remain for food and beverage operators to complement the centre’s dining precinct,” she says.
Coles Head of Leasing for Victoria, Tim Roberts, said the new Coles supermarket will provide a convenient shopping experience for Mambourin residents and those in the surrounding suburbs, whether they choose to shop in-store or online.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Coles to deliver an enhanced shopping experience for our customers in this growth area,” he said.
A landscaped urban plaza will include a children’s play space, community artwork, and events space. The offering will also include end-of-trip cycling facilities, bike storage, showers, and change rooms.
The Council-approved masterplan for the retail precinct includes a proposed childcare centre, petrol station, and fast-food restaurants on Black Forest Road. Aspire Early Learning has recently been confirmed as the childcare centre operator.
Designed by award-winning architect Clarke Hopkins Clarke, Mambourin Marketplace will be a 5-Star Green Star environmentally conscious designed building.
Mambourin is part of the Wyndham Local Government area, one of Australia’s fastest-growing LGAs, and Mambourin Marketplace will service a Main Trade Area population of approximately 93,000 residents by 20361.
The Mambourin community itself will be home to over 3,300 new residents when completed. For those still wanting to call Mambourin home, the final land lots are now on sale ranging in size from 252 sqm to 586 sqm with prices starting at $304,000. House and land packages are also available from $591,880 from a range of builders.
