Colliers, on behalf of Jamie Harris and Anthony Connelly of McGrathNicol in their capacity as Receivers and Managers of GAJ Nominees Pty Ltd (Receivers and Managers Appointed), are pleased to announce the launch of the Expressions of Interest sale campaign for the Darwin Transit Centre.
Occupying a prominent 7,740sqm (approx.) landholding at 69 Mitchell Street in the Darwin CBD, the Darwin Transit Centre benefits from a holding income of approximately $1.4 million from a diverse range of tenants including Shenannigans Irish Pub (an Australian Venue Co licensed tavern), Six Tanks Brewing and the Youth Shack and Chilli’s backpacker hostels. The two backpacker hostels are collectively licensed for approximately 475 beds.
Samuel Biggins, Colliers Restructuring Property Services Team states ‘with the recent Santos Barossa Gas announcement and the upswing in the NT market we are expecting strong interest in the offering from purchasers both locally, interstate and potentially from Asia’.
According to Chris Hyland, Managing Director of Colliers Darwin ‘there is a very high level of awareness of the Transit Centre amongst the active players in the Darwin property sector. We have already fielded approaches from several of these groups expressing interest in the asset’.
Craig Inkster, Director of Commercial Agency with Colliers Darwin ‘there are no comparable holdings within the Darwin CBD which can offer the scale, high holding income, dual street frontages and a variety of potential development and value-add outcomes which are on offer with the Transit Centre’.
Expressions of Interest will close at 4:00pm on Thursday, 21st July 2021.
