CBRE has appointed Su-Fern Tan to lead its national sustainability team and redefine its Property Management service offering as it relates to Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG).
Ms Tan will relocate from New York to Sydney to assume the newly created CBRE Property Management role of National Director, ESG and lead the firm’s team of 18 sustainability professionals.
CBRE’s Executive Managing Director, Property Management, Amanda Steele said the appointment recognised the ever-increasing client emphasis on strategies to reduce carbon emissions, champion sustainability objectives and positively impact local communities.
“CBRE has a science-based target to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from both CBRE’s own operations and the properties we manage for investors and occupiers,” Ms Steele said.
“Su-Fern’s appointment will further accelerate our ability to support our clients in this regard and deliver on their overall ESG objectives, drawing on her knowledge, international experience and strong technology background.”
Ms Tan has held senior roles at Arup, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Prescriptive Data and Catalent in addition to being a board member of Sustainable Westchester, an Advisory Board member of Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, and a LEED Committee member of the US Green Building’s Council’s Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group.
She is also acting as an advisor to the NYC Department of Buildings’ Commercial Building Technology and Pathways Working Group on the implementation of New York’s ambitious carbon cap and trade scheme, Local Law 97.
