Colliers has appointed experienced healthcare transaction specialist Ian Sanders as its new Head of Healthcare & Retirement Living in a strategic appointment aimed at strengthening and expanding its existing capabilities.
Mr Sanders joins Colliers with more than 20 years experience in the health sector, firstly in a service capacity through banking and finance and then in a governance capacity working with non-profits in the aged care sector.
Most recently, he was a corporate and institutional finance business leader in roles as Head of Health at St George Bank and Director Corporate at NAB Health.
“With a focus on increasing market share and attracting and retaining talent, Ian’s leadership expertise will enable our Healthcare & Retirement Living business to strengthen existing operations and expand capabilities across all services and strategic markets,” Dwight Hillier, Colliers’ Managing Director of Valuation & Advisory Services, Strategic Advisory and Healthcare & Retirement Living said.
“As an expert in end-to-end healthcare transactions, Ian’s strong industry connections and market experience will enable our Healthcare & Retirement Living team to continue to build scale and deliver enduring results for our clients.”
Mr Sanders said he looked forward to growing Colliers’ Healthcare & Retirement Living business, from agency through to research and valuations.
“In previous executive finance roles, I worked with institutional, corporate and property finance businesses across various markets, with time spent off-shore in New York and New Zealand,” he said. “I have lead a number of major healthcare transactions throughout my career including funding and underwriting for acquisitions. I have also managed client-facing businesses which equips me with a unique skillset to maximise the potential of property for clients.
“The health sector is a target destination for capital and a segment in pursuit of innovation to keep up with rapidly evolving demand. Areas of focus in the current market include Aged Care, Hospitals, Retirement Living & Health and Medical Centres.”
