The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) has signed a three-year partnership with global commercial property management software company, Re-Leased.
REIA President, Mr Hayden Groves said the sponsorship involved a holistic partnership with Re-Leased to support future research, events and thought leadership including the annual REIA National Awards for Excellence.
Mr Groves said the most important component of the Re-leased partnership is an exciting new venture designed specifically at elevating the voice of Australia’s commercial real estate practices.
“Our partnership with Re-leased will power the new REIA Commercial Agency Engagement Program across all tiers of Australia’s commercial agency network to give this important market sector the voice and support it deserves.
“REIA’s Commercial Engagement Program will consult with leading commercial practitioners and agencies Australia-wide through research, 1:1 engagement, digital forums and a series of in person events.
“Re-Leased will also be the major sponsor of the REIA Commercial Property Manager of the Year award for REIA’s National Awards for Excellence in both 2023 and 2024,” Mr Groves said.
Re-Leased is helping Australian commercial property managers and investors manage over 40,000 Australian properties and 70,000 leases. This commercial focus makes them a natural partner for REIA.
Tom Wallace, Founder and CEO, Re-Leased said “Re-Leased is very excited to partner with REIA. We are passionate advocates for the commercial property industry and we want to support the important work REIA do to assist the real estate industry.
“This partnership allows Re-Leased to help ensure that there is a voice for the commercial property industry represented in policy discussions which affect the property industry in Australia. This allows us to also back the great work the state bodies are doing to support industry excellence in standards and training for the commercial property industry.”
Founded in New Zealand in 2013 by Tom Wallace, Re-Leased has evolved to become a leading global commercial property management software solution.
Opening its Australian office in 2014, Re-Leased’s modern, cloud-based property management software has been built specifically for commercial portfolios. Winner of the Xero Industry App of the Year in 2020, Re-Leased continues to launch commercially focused products such as Re-Leased Pay and CREDIA – Asset and Portfolio Intelligence.
Tom Wallace told COMMO, “Re-Leased has ambitious plans for the world of commercial real estate both in Australia and further abroad. We take our responsibility as advocates for the commercial real estate industry seriously and it is why are working with our customers and great industry partners like REIA to ensure we continue add value to the commercial property community.
“Earlier this year, Re-Leased’s AU $20m funding round was led by JLL Spark and we intend to invest these funds into bringing new commercially-focused products to market, hiring talent and reinvesting in our existing platform to ensure best in class experiences for our users.”
Hayden Groves added, “Commercial property is the epicentre of Australian business and with industry and media focus mostly upon residential real estate, the small and medium real estate agencies looking after the thousands of commercial assets across Australia deserve more attention. In response, REIA will turn its attention to this important sector of real estate business.”
“Commercial property is worth an estimated combined $1 trillion plus and is an important asset class for many residential investors.
“Over 2022, REIA will host a series of events and one on one engagements with leading commercial agencies Australia wide in order to gain greater insights into what matters to our commercial agents.
“This will identify the key issues and opportunities for commercial agencies and form the basis of an action plan of how we as Institutes can better service this important market segment.”
