Kangaroo Point Green Bridge restaurant and Café leased by Colliers Retail Leasing Senior Executive Ishbel Jones to the Tassis Group.
After fierce competition from across Australia, the Tassis Group has been announced as the preferred operator for the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge restaurant and Café.
In what is set to be Brisbane’s most iconic dining destination, the new restaurant and café on the bridge and its city landing will create a new riverside space for Brisbane residents and visitors to enjoy.
Colliers Retail Leasing Senior Executive Ishbel Jones said there was significant interest in the sites with many of Australia’s best known food and beverage operators putting forward great offerings.
“Absolute waterfront retail space is rare and highly sought after within the Brisbane CBD market,” Ishbel Jones said.
“We expected this space to generate a high level of excitement and interest from potential restaurateurs looking to make a statement in Brisbane's dining scene. Over 35 operators initially put their hat in the ring, which was then shortlisted for further evaluation.
“The Tassis Group ultimately had the best offering for the spaces with an exciting seafood and steak restaurant, to be named Bombora, and café at the bridge landing, to be named Mulga Bills, which will see the area come to life.
“The Tassis Group already have several successful Brisbane restaurants including Opa Bar + Mezze, Yamas Greek + Drink and Massimo.
“The huge interest in the leasing campaign really highlighted that Brisbane is becoming a world-class city with top dining destinations,” Ishbel Jones added.
The leasing process took about 12 months to complete. The recommendation to appoint the Tassis Group as the successful operator for the two dining venues will go to Council for approval on 2 May 2023.
Bombora restaurant is the larger of the two food and beverage facilities, it will be elevated above the bridge deck on the approach to the city landing, affording panoramic views of the CBD, Brisbane River, Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point Cliffs and City Botanic Gardens. The restaurant will be a modern steak and seafood restaurant.
