EzyMart is a true Australian success story. Founder/CEO and taekwondo champion, Maher Magableh built a reputation as a rising star in the convenience retail trade.
Mr Magableh was originally offered an opportunity to be part of a small milk bar based at Bondi Beach, at a time when the Aussie loved shop was fast diminishing. He had no prior experience working in a retail business but decided to take this challenge on. He had to learn everything from scratch, but his mindset was focused on growing and developing new skills.
Over a significantly short period, he transformed the business into a convenience store which proved a huge success. Four years later, Mr Magableh came across the opportunity to lease a property 7 Eleven had vacated which proved to be another success.
Mr Magableh had a vision and goal to establish an EzyMart Store on every city corner and in major shopping centres. As the main business districts across Australia’s Capital Cities continued to grow rapidly, boosted by a high demand for inner-city dwellings fuelled by a high immigration and population growth, it was only a matter of time before the need for 24 hour convenience shops were to be part of the landscape.
Fostered by the new population movement to the CBD and the construction of thousands of new residential apartments, the company aggressively secured all of the key strategic locations for its stores, and in the space of 10 years, successfully opened over 450 stores across Australia.
